HONORABLE MENTION "White-tailed deer, Odocoileus virginianus, unique behavior. Shenandoah National Park, Big Meadows area in Virginia, USA. White-tailed deer have a bad reputation in some parts of the world. In our National Parks there are places where the deer are habituated to humans. It is a special experience to be close to wild animals that accept you as part of their home. This fawn is nuzzling with a buck. From what I can gather this is a very rare behavior among white-tailed deer." by Wil Hershberger, WV<br />
